Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), has notified the details of the admission to its Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programmes (M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A., M.P.H.) offered from Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad campuses and other locations for 2019-20 admissions.
The Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses are networked with Mumbai campus to access library, online books and journals and classes. All campuses have unified campus placement policy and placement process.

Campus Preference: Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes across any of the two campuses indicating the order of preference. The merit list will be prepared based on the preferences given by the candidate in the application form.
Reservation: Seats to the extent of 15%, 7.5% and 27% are reserved for Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe and Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) for each of the programmes. In addition, supernumerary seats are allocated to Persons with Disabilities (PWD) {3%}, Kashmiri migrants {5%} and children of the Armed Forces Employees {5%}.
Selection: The selection of candidates will be in two stages having three components of assessment. They include (i) TISSNET (ii) Pre Interview Test (iii) Personal Interview.
All applicants have to first appear for the TISS National entrance test (TISSNET). Based on the performance in the TISSNET examination, candidates short listed will be called for the Pre Interview Test and Personal Interview.(PIT/PI).
TISS-NET will be held from 2 pm to 3.40 pm on January 19, 2019 (Saturday), at 39 centres located in different parts of the country. The list of centres is as follows: Northern Region: Chandigarh, Dehradun,New Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Noida, Varanasi, Greater Noida, Mohali; Eastern Region: Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Dimapur, Silchar; Western Region: Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Solapur, Navi-Mumbai, Thane; Southern Region: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Visakhapatnam, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode.
The computer based National Common Written Test, common for admission to all courses, will carry 100 marks. It will have objective type questions related to General Awareness/General Knowledge (40 marks); Analytical Ability (Mathematics) and Logical Reasoning (30 marks); and English Proficiency (30 marks). Pre Interview Test (PIT) and Personal Interview (PI) for programmes offered at Mumbai, BALM, Chennai will be conducted at the Mumbai Campus . For programmes offered at Tuljapur, Hyderabad and Guwahati Campuses, the PIT/PI will be conducted at the respective campuses. Candidates applying for programmes at more than one campus, will have to travel to these places for PIT/PI. Except for the eligible candidates from the SC/ST categories all others will bear the cost of travel, lodging and boarding for attending the NET, as well as PIT/PI. Pre-Interview Test/GD will carry 50 marks and Personal Interview, 75 marks.
The final merit list will be prepared based on 40% weightage for TISSNET and 30% weightage for each of PIT and PI (Total 225 marks)
In case the candidate is selected for more than one programme after National Entrance Test, Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview, admission will be offered to the programme higher in the order of preference.
Application: Applications can be submitted only online at from October 22, 2018 (Monday). The last date for online form Application / Registration for All Master’s programmes is December 10, 2018 (Monday).
Applicant has to register with an email-id. A password will be sent to the applicant to be used to login and fill the online form. After login, candidates have to fill in their basic details, academic details and have to mention the programmes they wish to apply for in the order of preference. They have to then pay the application fee (depending on number of programmes applied) either by depositing cash in any branch of SBI or through Credit card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking and Scan and upload photograph, signature, marksheet of last exam passed and other necessary certificates.
Candidates having lack of access to internet services (remote area) can write to Mumbai campus for printed application form. They have to fill the application form and submit before last date of submission. Last Date for receipt of application form by post is December 12, 2018 (Wednesday)
Candidates can apply for multiple programmes and pay for all the programmes in one online form and should not fill more than one online form. If a candidate is found to have filled more than one form, all his/her applications will be cancelled.
TISS-NET Hall Ticket: Hall Ticket will be uploaded on TISS Website between 26th December 2018 and 27th December 2018. Applicants can down load their hall ticket from the TISS website.
